Not very usefull for 2d drafting in my opinion, but very cool with all the python scripting stuff.
It works on windows, linux and mac and is made dassault, the maker of the 3d modelling suite solidworks.
Although its not free, it mimics AutoCAD almost verbatim and its less than 500 bucks for the Classic version and only 825 for the Platinum.
I have been usung it in practice for almost two years with no hiccups.

Thanks For The Feedback Everybody, Looks Like We Really Nailed This One Down.
I feel like truly forcing myself to learn it has made me an angrier and more self-righteous person.

Onshape is still pretty new and doesnt have all the various features and add ons, but I really like the design behind it.
Akai mpc serial number not validFusion has some issues with its backend api structure that made it really hard to integrate with, but its a good CAD system overall.
Catia and Solidworks are really good, but the process of becoming a partner and integrating with them is logistically difficult.
You have to supply three customer references and various other things that make it difficult to get off the ground as a new company.
Windchill was terrible.

Share Report Save level 1 1 year ago I just want freeCAD to be better.
Share Report Save level 2 1 year ago it is better but its rate of improvement is too slow, however to be fair it is opensource and free so its tough to compete with the big dogs especially with autodesk 4 Share Report Save level 1 1 year ago edited 1 year ago Im not gonna lie you had me in the first half.
I was like hmm they forgot.
Feel bad for those engineers at Google.
Share Report Save level 1 1 year ago edited 1 year ago I think its hard to rank Creo based on your criteria because if you walk into a company that has mapkeys and command ribbon set up well, its just as easy to use as SolidWorks but with (IMO) a better interface for setting up equations, and forcing you to build models in a way that wont blow up irreparably if you edit something early in the feature tree.
Whereas if you walk into a company that is using the default settings or a poor set up, its a bit of a shit show with a long learning curve.
And at the same time, its not fair to rank it based on a good set up or the default setup, because its meant to be customized.
In any case, I think the point of a CAD system is to achieve your output--i.e.
In this matter, Creo is second only to Catia and NX when being used by a trained user.
And to be honest, it makes no sense to compare CAD systems being used by anytthing less than fully-trained users, so Creo should lie in A tier, probably with SolidWorks.

Allow me to clarify some of the decisions I have made and the overall way I chose to rank this list.
If the program is placed other than than you think it should be, explain why, but keep in mind ALL of the factors being considered here and ones not considered here.
If it gets to the point where creos placement keeps getting argued, ill either make it a poll or if people start being elitists, it will be acknowledged as such.
This list is still under revision let me know what programs i need to add, but keep in mind, they must be mechanical 3D parametric design packages or of the like.
Keep in mind this is only rating the 3D parametric modeling portions of the above packages.
Also, if you have any ideas for what the ones should be at, let me know Also, let me know if once this one is finalized, I should do another regarding ONLY maximum capability.
Thanks 7 Share Report Save level 2 Solidworks 1 year ago While the majority of your stuff is parametric CAD software I feel like its also missing some context.
NX, CATIA, and Creo attempt to be a near universal CAD solution for Large businesses.
